Workshop Details

Plenty of things can go wrong when travelling in complex and higher-risk environments. If you’re prepared for these incidents, they may only have a minor impact on your trip. If you’re not prepared, they could derail your trip. More importantly, they could place you in danger.

This workshop teaches you how to identify potential contingencies and plan for them.

What you will learn

The Planning for Contingencies workshop will teach you how to:

  • Identify potential contingencies
  • Prepare for different contingencies
  • Establish the necessary resources to support contingency plans

During the workshop you’ll have the opportunity to develop contingency plans for a specific higher-risk destination. We’ll provide feedback on these plans during the session.

Ideal attendees

This workshop is ideal for individuals who frequently travel to higher-risk countries, such as:

  • Business travellers
  • Non-government organisation workers
  • Journalists
  • Security specialists
  • Adventure travellers
